Now the competition is over and everybody's leaving. We're feeling a little bit sad, but I'm sure we'll meet again somewhere! Have a safe trip home!
Congratulations to the winners, and thank you all!
THANK YOU ALL!
For making this Contest a fair sporting
event!
We were unbelievable lucky with the weather which made it a real
gliding competition. More than 800 flights, more than 280 000
kilometers practice days included was much more than we expected.
I am very satisfied with the safety in this contest. Only
occasions were two minor damages during outlanding which indicates
good airmanship. From the results we can see you are the top of the
world already now!
I would like to thank you all for the smooth and relaxed feeling
during your stay. You made this competition to stay in our memories
rest of our lives.
Your smiling faces will stay in our hearts forever!
We wish you all the nice and good things.
See you some day!

Dear gliding friends,
The Finnish Aeronautical
Association is proud to be a host of the Junior World Gliding
Championships 2009. We are also really glad to see so many
participants here in Räyskälä. Weather has not been promising
lately, but we believe it will improve. As it’s best it can be
fabulous!
For the world’s gliding family, the JWGC is one of the
most important events. This group of young competing pilots is the
core of gliding sport in future. They are stimulating the sport and
making it more attractive for newcomers to the gliding family. We
are happy to see many of them challenging the world’s present top
pilots in coming years.
As being part of our national team in EGC
in Nitra, I am not able to be present in Räyskälä. I hope and
believe that the weather will be good during the competition. I
wish you all good, sporty and rewarding competition.
